It used to be a big deal when Spider-Man showed up in a Captain America issue or when Superman teamed up with Batman. That’s not the case any long, as now that fans are used to seeing such team-ups ad nauseam creators have had to get a bit more creative.

That has paved the way for crossovers that extend outside of individual companies. Older ones like Teen Titans and The X-Men, Superman vs The Darkness, or Batman vs Predator have fulfilled many “couldn’t dream it would happen” lists, and now they’ve become even more popular.

With series like the recently released Justice League Power Rangers and Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern, the skies the limit when it comes to combining franchises and worlds. With that in mind, here are a few crossovers that could only happen in comics.

Power Rangers Meets The Champions

So the Power Rangers have already met the Justice League, the almighty team of DC’s hallowed icons. Thing is, it is easy to forget that the Rangers are actually rather young in age, and as such, they don’t have a ton in common with the League, who are made up of some of the most experienced heroes DC has to offer.

With that in mind, how aboutย introducing them to a group of heroes much more in line with their personalities and interests? They would be a perfect fit for The Champions, Marvel’s newest team of young heroes who are fighting for a cause they believeย in and showing up the adults in the process. Seeing those twoย interact would make for some great character development once both teams end up going their separate ways.

Plus, who doesn’t want to see Megazord throw the Incredible Hulk at a Rita Repulsa monster? Yeah, knew you’d see the light.

New Sherlock And Watson Starring Detective Chimp And Chew

Sherlock Holmes and Watson are icons of literature and film, so if you are going to riff on it, you need to come with something pretty unique. A pairing between two very unique detectives shouldย do the trick.

Batman’s detective skills are unquestioned, but in a privateย moment he would probably tell you that Detective Chimp’s skills are even better, and that isn’t something he says lightly. The lovable chimp has a knack for getting to the bottom of cases, no matter how messy they might be. Still, he needs his Watson, so how about a fellow detective who has a knack for finding the truth with his digestive system?

Enter Tony Chu, who gets his information from, well, eating the evidence. It’s Lethal Weapon if, you know, Martin Riggs ate brains to figure out the truth.

Star Wars And Guardians Of The Galaxy

Now that Star Wars and Marvel are under the same umbrella, why not utilizeย them? Granted, the two will never cross paths in regards to their film universes, nor should they. Comics are an entirely different story.

The Star Wars books have started filling in some of the canon for an already rich universe, but what happens when Marvel’s lovable team of space adventurersย runs into Han and Chewbacca on the Millenium Falcon? One, they would probably try and steal it at some point, but not to keep, just to ride in a for a while.

You know you want to see Chewbacca and Groot have a full-length conversationย with Rocket acting as a narrator to the rest of the group. Plus Rocket and Yoda? Comedy gold.

Faith Joins The Birds Of Prey

The Birds of Prey were recently reunited within the pages of their DC Rebirth ongoing, but who would say no to some additional help? Especially true if it came in the form of Valiant’s beloved superhero Faith.

Faith’s delightful personality would fit right in with Batgirl and Black Canary, and she would provideย a fantastic comedic foil to the more rigid Huntress. While Faith would briefly be brought to the DC Universe, the team would then be transported back to the Valiant-verse, giving the characters much more to play off of with Faith as their guide to a crazy new world.

WWE Meets The Green Lantern Corps

BOOM! Studios has entered the WWE game with their new ongoing series, and what crazier ring for them to perform in than a cosmic one?

The superstars of the WWE would be suddenly transported to space, as the Lanterns find themselves in a new war with Sinestro and his Yellow Lantern Corps. The Guardians see the feats that the superstars can perform without the aid of a ring, and quickly draft them into service to protect the planet.

As those who watch WWE know, no two personalities are alike and so the Heels have anything but world preservation in mind. Stars like Bray Wyatt would quickly find their way to the Fear Corps, while John Cena would rep the ring of will. It would provide plenty of opportunities to flesh out the characters personalities and result in some entertainingย cosmic battles as well.
