Agh! The Swamp Thing….from Planet Rann! McFarlane Toys announced today that a new Swamp Thing Mega Figure would release on Halloween, and this time it would be the humongous, red, cactus-like creature from the Planet Rann! Swamp Thing #57 (February 1987) introduces the terrifying monster when hero Adam Strange attempts to return to Planet Rann and instead smashes head on into the Swamp Thing! Now mutated to be red and cacti-like, it’s up to Adam to take him down. 

The McFarlane Mega figure line is usually taller than the regular line, some coming in at 9-inches. We’ll have to wait and see what the exact measurements are, but this Swamp Thing is destined to be one of the larger McFarlane collectibles. Pre-orders for the figure are expected to go live starting at 9am PT / 12pm ET tomorrow, October 31st.. You can find it at Entertainment Earth here after the launch time. McFarlane also recently launched the DC Direct Collector Vinyl Swamp Thing Todd’s Mods Limited Edition Figure, a 4 1/2-inch collectible with a static pose., It’s available for $14.99 with an estimated arrival date of January 2025. You can pre-order the figure here at Entertainment Earth as well. 

Swamp Thing continues to grow with new stories and new team ups in the DC Universe, in the comics and on camera. While we wait to hear what’s going on with James Mangold’s Swamp Thing movie, we’ll be looking at the comics to see what he’s up to. Just today DC released a special Halloween one-shot, a collaboration between two plant-lovers… Swamp Thing and Poison Ivy! The new comic, Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees #1, gets into how its two characters protect the green and what their role is in the Parliament of Trees. 

Comicbook’s own Matthew Aguilar reviewed the comic and gave it a 4.5, stating it “keeps you hooked on the greater mystery and emotionally invested in the people in the center of it all the way through, and it’s an adventure you won’t want to miss.” So, there you have it. This is definitely a team-up I need to read.

The film is definitely a cult classic, one of the greats for fans of the sci-fi and action genres. A reboot was even in discussion recently, making it as far as to attach directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin AKA Radio Silence, but in the end the two exited the project over timing difficulties. What is Star Wars: Skeleton Crew about?

Even though Seinfeld ended its run back in 1998, the show remains one of the most popular of all-time. The ending of Curb Your Enthusiasm even made the divisive finale retroactively great. That said, a 4K Blu-ray set of the complete series is long overdue. Actually, we didn’t even have a Blu-ray set up to this point, so this promises to be a special day for fans as we’re getting both options.

Indeed, Seinfeld is now available in a Complete Series 4K Blu-ray box set that you can pre-order here on Amazon for $249.99. Note that it is a limited edition, so if only 4K will do, reserve one as soon as possible. Also keep in mind that the 4K release will bring back the original 1.33 aspect ratio.

Curb Your Enthusiasm “Fixes” The Seinfeld Finale

Though the Curb Your Enthusiasm finale was generally well received, executive producer Jeff Schaffer made his feelings known to The Wrap regarding anyone that took issue with it:

“No, I mean it was like, we’re giving you the Seinfeld finale on steroids. We’re owning that Larry’s learned nothing, so if you don’t like it, too bad, we don’t care,” Schaffer explained. “There was never hesitation not to do it, because it felt right.”

“There’s just a lot of work on making sure that it’s not just that, that it’s also a funny episode of Curb,” he added. “It was very important for us that the final episode was a good episode of Curb. So that was the part that was the most difficult, weaving these stories together and having some of them blow up in court.”

Schaffer mused, “I mean, having Susie in a blonde wig, in a wheelchair, to grudgingly go along with Larry, only to have that blow up in his face… those are Curb stories that are happening and coming to a denouement in the trial itself. It was really important that it wasn’t just a trial with our guys sitting there.”

The popularity of Dungeons & Dragons popularity has increased over the past few years, even garnering an entire feature length film (starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page) that was well reviewed by critics but fell short at the box office. While we’re unsure if Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will ever get a sequel, it’s definitely worth a watch.

D&D also plays a huge part in the setting of Stranger Things. Fan-favorite Eddie Munson is even getting his own prequel comic series that heavily features his in-universe D&D game. The 4-part series is a collaboration between Dungeons and Dragons and Dark Horse Comics. Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire #1 (of 4) will land in comic stores on February 19th, 2025, and you can pre-order the first issue now at your local comic store.

Fans of the recently released Mortal Kombat 1 might be excited to learn that McFarlane Toys is releasing a 1:6 scale posed figure / statue of one of the most iconic fighters in the long-standing series: Sub-Zero! Pre-orders will launch on October 30th at 9am PT / 12pm ET, and you’ll be able to find it here at Entertainment Earth around that time. It should also be available here on Amazon. The statue showcases Sub Zero standing tall with his first in the air, the frost on his hand fresh and still crawling down his arm. His outfit is very accurate to the game, which got a well-received redesign. His new Mortal Kombat 1 outfit is still blue and black, but no longer includes his hood. His mask, one of the standout characteristics of this character’s design, is still there and honestly, to me, Sub Zero has never looked better.

If you’re a fan of the series then you probably want to stay up to date with all the new additions for the series. First of all, don’t miss the Mortal Kombat hardcover art book, which takes fans on a visual journey through the entire series, bringing detail to the creative decisions that were made starting from the very beginning. Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory: A Visual History of the Iconic Series should definitely pique your interest if you’re a long-time fan of the series. 

Beyond that, owners of Mortal Kombat 1 have been enjoying new additions and upgrades to the game since launch. New outfits, new landscapes, all for new and old fans alike. The most recent addition was an exciting one fo fans of the character Mileena. The character received a new skin, a throwback to the game Mortal Kombat: Deception. While not a 1:1 copy (and some fans are mad that it isnt), the new skin features the pink-purple outfit from the 2004 sequel game, the most iconic outfit for fans of the character. The speciality skin is currently exclusive to the Premium Store and costs 500 red crystals to purchase. 

With all of these new features consistently being added to the Mortal Kombat franchise, it seems the fandom for it is alive and well. New statues, new art books, new game additions – things are looking pretty good!

2024 has been a great year for physical media releases. Even as stores like Best Buy and Target have phased out a lot of their physical movie sales, studios and boutique labels have been releasing a steady stream of very high quality restorations. There have been few 4K titles in 2024 you could point to and say aren’t very good (far fewer than in previous years). As frustrating as the overall state of physical media has seemed lately, we’re at the center of an incredible wave of movie collecting and film preservation, and Arrow Video is leading the charge.

Arrow has been doing impeccable work for years, giving beloved films beautiful restorations and putting together hordes of great features for movie fans to enjoy. It seems like this year, however, Arrow has taken things a step further and really become one of the best (if not THE best) physical media retailers around. Nothing makes that more evident than the two titles that headline Arrow’s horror slate this Halloween season: Trick ‘r Treat and Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment.

These two releases aren’t just among the best physical horror releases in 2024, they’re probably among the best physical movie releases of the year, period.

Let’s start with the Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment (you can order one here), which is without a doubt my favorite 4K box set of 2024. This release contains the first four films from the Hellraiser franchise, all given brand new 4K restorations from their original camera negatives. The Hellraiser movies are bloody, gooey, colorful, and uncomfortably tactile. The 4K transfers give those qualities the kind of life we’ve never seen from these films before. The first time Frank crawls out of the shadows in this restoration of Clive Barker’s original Hellraiser, it’ll send chills up your spine no matter how many times you’ve seen the film.

The quality of all four discs is out of this world, but anyone who has purchased from Arrow before knows that is to be expected. They don’t take these restorations lightly. What really sets the Quartet of Torment apart from other collections, like the recently released Paramount Scares Vol. 2, is just how much work was put into everything beyond the restoration itself.

The first Hellraiser alone has multiple hours of brand new special features that deal with Barker’s legacy and how the film revolutionized the horror genre. There are three feature commentary tracks on this thing, two of which are previous releases that feature Barker, while the third is a brand new commentary with historian Stephen Jones and film critic Kim Newman. You could spend a couple of days working through all of these features, and that’s just on the first disc. All four Hellraiser films in the collection were given a similar treatment.

Maybe the most impressive thing about the Quartet of Torment, though, is the packaging. I’m not usually one to obsess over the box a movie comes in, so long as the disc itself is great. But that’s not the case with his Hellraiser collection. The box alone is almost enough reason to buy it. The outer box, slip-cover, and actual Blu-ray case represent layers of Pinhead that peel back as you get closer to the discs. A full picture of the iconic monster transforms into a layer of flesh and blood, before the slip-cover comes off to reveal nothing but a skeleton. All of that is packaged in nicely with a 200-page hardback book detailing the history and restorations of these films.

Box sets nowadays don’t usually look half as good as the Quartet of Torment. It’s got everything a Hellraiser fan wants or needs. The craziest part is that it’s only one of two phenomenal horror releases from Arrow Video in October.

Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat has become an iconic Halloween rewatch for horror fans over the years. People are still asking Doughtery about a sequel to this connected anthology on a regular basis (and he still plans to deliver one). It’s a movie so many love but hadn’t gotten the 4K release that a lot of film fans hoped for. That changed this month.

Trick ‘r Treat is all about creating an atmosphere, and Arrow’s 4K restoration (approved by Dougherty) brings that atmosphere to the forefront. The shadows are darker than ever before. The glow of the jack-o-lanterns are somehow even warmer than you remember. When things start to get violent, the blood creates a stunning contrast to the rest of the picture. Maybe even more impressive than anything in the picture is the audio track that almost demands some type of surround sound. Wind, leaves, footsteps, and so many individual little elements really pop through this track and transport you to a chilling Halloween night.

Like with the Quartet of Torment, this Trick ‘r Treat disc goes heavy on the special features. Dougherty returns for a brand new commentary (in addition to one of his previous commentary tracks). There are six new special features packed onto the release, alongside some of the best features from the previous Blu-ray and DVD releases. The cherry on top is the new Sam-centric cover art, which is also included as a separate poster.

I know a lot of this sounds hyperbolic, but I wouldn’t write it if I didn’t believe in it. I am lucky enough to get sent a lot of physical releases to review and cover, so I’ve watched and played around with a good chunk of this year’s physical movies. I have yet to come across any that I’ve enjoyed quite as much as these two Arrow Video releases.

It really does make a difference when you can see and feel the love going into a physical movie. It amplifies your own love of that film, in a way. It’s like your adoration of a piece of art is enhanced when you get to experience firsthand that same adoration from others. It’s a beautiful thing. It’s also rather hopeful.

Isn’t that what movies are supposed to be?

The latest drop from Funko includes four deluxe Pops: Aang, Katara, Toph, and Zuko, each masters of their respective element, and Katara, Toph, and Zuko are the masters who taught Aang everything he knows.

This deluxe drop not only includes some of the best (and arguably, more vital) Gaang members, but each Pop also includes an elemental background, visually similar to the opening credits of the show. The future of Avatar is long and vast, especially with the popularity of Netflix’s live-action reboot. When it premiered back in February this year, the show was breaking Netflix’s viewership records. According to the most recent Netflix data, which covers from January to June 2024, Avatar: The Last Airbender took the 5th spot for Most Watched Series on the platform, above other live-action adaptation content like Bridgerton. 

Beyond just the numbers, fans have considered this adaptation to be leaps and bounds above the previous adaptation – the disappointing M. Night Shyamalan 2010 movie. Netflix greenlit season 2 of the series quickly, jumping on the success of season 1. Back in September, Netflix released a sneak peak of a certain earth-bender who’s getting a Funko Pop today… the incredible Toph Beifong! As soon as season 2 was announced, we knew they were looking for their perfect Toph. Now she’s here! The fan-favorite character is certainly a selling point of season 2, and we’re excited to see how Netflix does with her.

It appears that the conversation about the death of physical media was a bit premature, because Blu-ray sales have been hot lately – especially when it comes to limited edition Steelbooks. Deadpool & Wolverine Steelbooks have been selling like crazy, and there have been super quick sellouts on releases like the Terminator 40th anniversary and Godzilla Minus One 4K Steelbooks. The Alien: Romulus 4K Steelbook has also been a big seller, but the question now is – how will the VHS release fare?

You heard that correctly. A VHS edition of Alien: Romulus exists, and you can pre-order it now here at Walmart for $59.96. It might also turn up here on Amazon in the near future. Keep in mind that this is a very limited edition release, and will undoubtedly sell out even at that price. It will arrive on your doorstep December 3rd. This is obviously a collector’s item, but if you actually own a VCR keep in mind that the VHS is fully functional. It also features some fantastic cover art by Matt Ferguson. Given the strong box office performance of the film, it seems likely that another entry into the franchise.will happen, though nothing has been confirmed at this point. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Alvarez was asked about a potential Romulus sequel. While it wasn’t on the forefront of his mind during the film, he definitely thought about ways the story could be extended after the fact.

“Yes, I definitely can. We tend to do that naturally, not even thinking about sequels. For us, movies have not become franchises, tentpoles, and sequels,” the director said. “This is a language that I’ve only learned in the last ten years of my life working here. For me, it’s always been about story. So, once we finished, we started thinking, ‘What do you think happens when or if they get to your Yvaga? Is it going to be great? Or is it a terrible place?’ We tend to believe it’s probably a terrible place that they think is great and fantasize about, so we naturally started thinking about where it goes and what’s going to happen. And then, a few minutes in, we go, ‘Oh, that sounds like a sequel.’

The third round of Collector’s Edition Blu-ray releases for Disney+ shows has been unveiled, and it will include Star Wars and Marvel series The Mandalorian Season 3, Star Wars: Ahoska Season 1, Loki Season 2, and Hawkeye Season 1. What’s more, these will be the first Disney+ series Blu-rays to include Dolby Vision HDR, following Disney’s initial return to the format with Blu-ray releases for Deadpool & Wolverine and Alien: Romulus.

If you’re unfamiliar, Dolby Vision is a technology that can significantly improve the quality of video and provide a more immersive experience with better color, contrast, and brightness. The format is finding wider support on televisions, and it is already supported for streaming on Disney+ itself. All four releases will also feature Dolby Atmos soundtracks.

First revealed by Forbes, pre-orders for all four of the new releases are expected to be available tomorrow, October 31st with shipping slated for December 3rd. The exact timing of the pre-orders is unknown. As with previous releases, the shows will be available in 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray with fancy Steelbook cases and collectible cards with artwork from Attila Szarka. The big reveal for Hasbro’s 1027 event was the Cobra Nemesis Immortal figure, which is based on the character that made a memorable appearance in the 1987 animated film G.I. Joe: The Movie. Nemesis Immortal serves as the bodyguard and enforcer for Cobra-La’s ruler, Golobulus.

What Is the Transformers / G.I. Joe Movie About?

Officially announced by Paramount Pictures earlier this year, Transformers / G.I. Joe will finally introduce a live-action crossover between the two iconic Hasbro multimedia lines. The prospect of the crossover was first teased in the ending of 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy are producing, while Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment are executive producers. A director for the film is not currently confirmed.

Speaking to Collider about Transformers One, franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed that the crossover movie with G.I. Joe would be the next live-action movie to come from the world of Transformers:

“Well, we’re going, again, subject to success, we’re going to do a sequel to this, and there will be an animated version, and it will exist completely separately to whatever we do live-action. The next live-action movie will be a crossover,” the producer said. “Where it will be particularly affected is the fact that we now know what these robots are capable of emotionally in a way. So we’re going to have to figure out how to create that room, that we can afford that, and create a story that you can take more advantage of that. So one of the things that I’m particularly interested in doing, and we’re still in the development phase, so nothing is by any means written in stone, but I think we need to do more now from the robot point of view in the live-action because that’s the only way you’re really going to get inside them.”

“Instead of them reacting to humans or reacting to the human plot, what is their drive, has to be part of that story now,” he explained. “So it’s going to be complicated because now the hardest thing about a lot of franchise movies is how many characters there are, and the more characters you try to manage, the harder it is to make a bunch of really good ones. You kind of got to keep going, keep it smaller, keep it smaller. So we’ll be in that process for a while where we’ll start with a bunch of Joes and a bunch of Transformers and I’ll say, regular humans, and then you’re going to do this. That’s kind of where we are right now, is trying to put the larger thing in place. The trick in this one, like we were talking about here, in trying to find that tone and balance is like, ‘Well, how much of the Joes do you want? And how much of the Transformers do you want?’”

David Fincher fans, listen up… Universal Pictures’ relatively new DVD website GRUV has just put up an all-new 4K UltraHD limited edition Blu-ray Steelbook of Seven (or Se7en), the iconic 1995 crime drama starring Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Gwenyth Paltrow. The cover design appears to based on the end of the chase scene in the rain when John Doe confronts David Mills, which is an interesting choice. Seven has definitely solidified itself in film history, now considered in some lists as one of the best of all-time. David Fincher has also gone on to do big things in the years since. His impressive catalog also includes directing credits on other iconic films such as: Fight Club, Gone Girl, The Social Network and Zodiac. His talents have gone beyond the silver screen, landing him a deal with Netflix, where he created Mindhunter, one of the most beloved series in recent memory. And, if your taste is similar to mine, you’re probably also wishing that it had been greenlit for a third season.

With Fincher’s popularity having grown so spectacularly since, it’s no wonder that Seven has remained so prominent in audiences memories (besides, it’s the kind of movie that sticks with you). Earlier this year, a Se7en 4K Blu-ray Collector’s Edition was released that also completely sold out, so you’ll want to keep that in mind with regard to the new Steelbook edition.

Crazy final acts became a staple for Fincher, a director who works particularly well with high tension scenarios. From the final explosion in Fight Club, to that one famous scene with Andrew Garfield in The Social Network (you know the one), and the horrible moment of realization from Brad Pitt of what was in the box at the end of Seven, Fincher has given film fans something to remember forever, even if it’s only in our nightmares.

Indeed, this is one of the most memorable films ever made, and frequently considered to have one of the most haunting finales in film history. Brad Pitt’s charisma and style shine as he takes on the role of a hotheaded bad boy, while Morgan Freeman delivers one of the best renditions of a haggard detective, ready to get out of the game for good.

LEGO’s Victorian-style botanical garden is a 3,792-piece set that includes a glasshouse with three atriums that are loaded with over 35 plant species and elements like a spiral staircase, observation deck, and a cafe. Of course, you’ll need a big crew to tend to the plants, so the set comes with 12 minifigures that include a manager, two gardeners, a barista, and visitors. There will also be several animal figures to round out the display.

What’s Wednesday Season 2 about?

Little has been unveiled about the sophomore outing for Wednesday, although Ortega admits she was initially “terrified” to return to the show.

“I was a little terrified just because it had been years since Wednesday, since we shot the first one. We did that like two or three years ago in Romania,” Ortega said on the Tonight Show earlier this month. “So, I didn’t really know how I… I just was, I think, overthinking it.  But as soon as you put on the costumes by Colleen Atwood, you get hair and makeup done, and then you take all the expression out of your face, it’s like, ‘Oh, okay. I kind of, I know how to do this. Yeah. Yeah.’”

“I get to decide like how blue somebody’s gonna be, or where the brains go on the floor, what prosthetics look like,” she added of her new producer role. “It’s so exciting. It’s so much fun, actually.”

Wednesday Season Two is expected to be released on Netflix at some point in 2025. The first season of the show is now available to stream on the service. The Disney Store is planning a Toy Tuesday sales event for October 29th, and they’re calling it “the big toy event of the year.” Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen but, historically, these Toy Tuesday sales have offered pretty significant discounts in the 25% to 40% off range over a 24 to 48 hour period. That said, if you’re holiday shopping for a Disney fan it sounds like something you can’t afford to miss. Speaking of Star Wars collectibles, the latest LEGO Ultimate Collector Series set is the Jabba’s Sail Barge (75397. It launched earlier this month, and it’s available to order here at LEGO priced at $499.99. It’s also available here at The Disney Store, but don’t get your hopes up about this being eligible for the Toy Tuesday sale.

Clocking in at 3,942 pieces, it features the ability to fold down the sides and lift off the sails and top deck to check out the detailed interior. Inside you’ll find the the cockpit, prison cell, armory, kitchen and entertainment room equipped with Jabba’s bed and more. It will also include 11 Star Wars minifigures Jabba the Hutt, Princess Leia (Huttslayer / Slave Leia), Bib Fortuna, C-3PO, Max Rebo, Kithaba, Vizam, Wooof, Gamorrean Guard, Salacious Crumb and R2-D2 with a bar table accessory. Next month will mark the 10th anniversary of Nintendo’s amiibo line, which has far outlasted anyone’s expectations. Over the last decade, Nintendo has produced a vast number of the toys, and some of those figures have become pretty rare, and expensive on the secondary market. Thankfully, Nintendo has spent the last few years bringing many of these toys back into print. On November 21st, three hard to obtain amiibo will be making a comeback: Boo, Goomba, and Koopa Troopa. Pre-orders are now live for all three through GameStop and can be found at the links below:

All three of these amiibo usually command at least twice their asking price on sites like eBay, and have been out-of-print for years now. Nintendo often connects these reprints with a new piece of software; last month saw two Zelda amiibo brought back alongside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It probably would have made more sense to bring back Boo, Goomba, and Koopa Troopa alongside Super Mario Party Jamboree, but Nintendo might have wanted to give a little more space between the Zelda reissues and the recently released Splatoon two-packs. There’s really no way of knowing for sure, but collectors will be happy to see some of these figures offered again!

It’s unclear if these reprints will be exclusive to GameStop (as is sometimes the case), or if they’ll be offered through additional retailers like Target or Walmart. These three amiibo are compatible with a number of different Switch games, most notably Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Party, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. The actual compatibility is kind of on the weaker side, but many amiibo collectors seek out these figures as reasonably priced display pieces, as opposed to functional items. For those that do enjoy having amiibo for display, Boo is one of the cooler options, as it can glow in the dark.

At this time, the future of the amiibo line is somewhat in question. It doesn’t sound like Nintendo has plans to end the line anytime soon, but there are currently no new figures slated for release. The release of Echoes of Wisdom seemed like the perfect opportunity to offer a new version of Zelda, but Nintendo instead reprinted a version based on the character’s appearance in The Wind Waker. It’s possible Nintendo is holding off on making new figures to coincide with some Switch 2 games next year, and that we could see designs based on the rumored 3D Mario game in development. That would be in keeping with what we saw with Super Mario Odyssey, which received a trio of figures based on Mario, Peach, and Bowser.

When Does Transformers One Come Out on Streaming?

The Transformers One release date on Paramount+ hasn’t been revealed, but Paramount movies typically arrive on the platform after a three-week digital window. TF One could be available to stream on Tuesday, November 12th. The cult classic status of the 1999 sci-fi parody film Galaxy Quest has only grown over the years, so a 4K edition is long overdue. With this year marking the 25th anniversary of the film, the time is certainly right. Even Funko got into the Galaxy Quest game earlier this year to celebrate. That said, two editions of Galaxy Quest on 4K UHD Blu-ray / Digital went up for pre-order back in September – a standard edition and a Limited Edition Steelbook edition with new cover art that is sure to sell out in the near future. Amazingly, the Steelbook edition is the same price as the standard 4K edition at the time of writing.

Will there be a Galaxy Quest 2?

As of April of 2023, a Galaxy Quest television series was reportedly in the works for Paramount+. Speaking with ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian in support of The Santa Clauses, Allen revealed he’s looking forward to getting Galaxy Quest 2 off the ground any way possible.

“Consistently, this crew and everybody else with Galaxy Quest has been fighting to do this ‘moments later’ when the Thermians come back. We literally just talked about this yesterday, a group of us here, and we don’t know why [it hasn’t happened],” Allen says. “There’s been a script and our friend Alan Rickman passed away, so that script involving he and I in the whole story disappeared. The story itself was so clever and so fun. I love that crew and I love everything about Galaxy Quest.”

Galaxy Quest is considered one of the best Star Trek movies.

Galaxy Quest is a clear parody of Star Trek, following a group of actors who starred in a cult classic sci-fi television series and have struggled to gain notoriety outside of those roles ever since. They’re shocked to discover that aliens are real and that a group of them are seeking their characters’ help, having mistaken broadcasts of the original television series for a documentary.

Dean Parisot directed Galaxy Quest from a screenplay written by David Howard and Robert Gordon, based on Howard’s story. Despite having no official affiliation with Star Trek, fans attending Star Trek Las Vegas in 2013 voted Galaxy Quest the seventh-best Star Trek movie of all time, landing it in the middle of the list, sandwiched between Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Generations.

Galaxy Quest opened in 1999 and earned $90 million during its theatrical run, double its reported budget of $45 million. Critics also enjoyed the film, and it sports a stellar 90% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a critics consensus reading, “Intelligent and humorous satire with an excellent cast — no previous Trekkie knowledge needed to enjoy this one.”

While a sequel has yet to materialize, Galaxy Quest did see a continuation in comic book form. IDW Publishing released Galaxy Quest: Global Warning in 2008 and, in 2015, published a new Galaxy Quest ongoing series taking place years after the film, later collected as Galaxy Quest: The Journey Continues.

Over the weekend, Hasbro added three new reveals to their Star Wars lineup: a Black Series Savage Opress from The Clone Wars (Fan Channel exclusive), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Legend) from the Disney+ series, and Jedi Knight Yord Fandar from The Acolyte.

Pre-orders for all three releases will be available starting today, October 28th at 1pm ET for Pulse Premium Members and 2pm ET for the general public. Those who don’t wish to pay for a Pulse membership will be able to getting their figures here at Entertainment Earth after 2pm. Hasbro’s 1027 event took place over the weekend, and it included details on pre-orders for Marvel Legends figures inspired by the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World. First unveiled at the MCM London convention, the lineup will include Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Harrison Ford’s General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross aka Red Hulk, and Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres / Falcon.

Pre-orders for the Captain America 4 collection of Marvel Legends figures will begin today, October 28th at 1pm ET for Pulse Premium Members and 2pm ET for the general public. Those who don’t wish to pay for a Pulse membership should have no problem getting their figures here at Entertainment Earth after 2pm. Hasbro also revealed a Dark Avengers Warbird figure that will be available at in the same location on November 7th at 1pm ET. You can take a look at the entire wave in the gallery below. The Captain America and Falcon figures are both deluxe offerings with wing accessories and alternate hands. Esposito announced at San Diego Comic-Con that he is playing the Serpent Society villain Sidewinder. Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox, Luce), with a script from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman, as well as Dalan Musson and Matthew Orton.

Venom 3, AKA Venom: The Last Dance, just hit theaters, which means that it’s also time to pre-order a physical copy! While it’s true you can pre-order this movie in whatever quality your heart desires, the best and probably coolest option is still the Limited Edition Steelbook on 4K Blu-ray (Amazon) which, if you’re a fan of this trilogy, you know is also available for the first and second movies. Once again, the cover art is fantastic.

The standard 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD editions of Venom: The Last Dance are also available here on Amazon. Note that Walmart has these items in stock as well, along with a digital edition that will come with a limited edition action figure that has yet to be revealed. Naturally, a release date and special features are also unknown at the moment, but this article will be updated with that information when it becomes available. An official description of the film reads, “ Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.” With that description, we anticipate a final act that will bring the trilogy to a close. 

While the box office for the final Venom movie hasn’t been all that thrilling so far, fans of the first two will still enjoy the finale, especially if they’re ready to have a wild entertaining night with Venom and Eddie. 

Venom: The Last Dance is “a whacky buddy road trip that stretches its PG-13 rating as far as it will possibly go,” ComicBook’s Chris Killian tweeted following the Monday night premiere in New York City. “Simply put – Venom 3 is classic guilty pleasure cinema. The LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia is getting a new edition for 2025, and it will continue the practice of including an exclusive minifigure. As we’ve seen in the past with LEGO Star Wars reference books, the minfigure is shrouded in mystery until, inevitably, some retailer spoils everything. Such is the case with the upcoming Character Encyclopedia, which is slated to arrive in April 1st, 2025.

Barnes & Noble has revealed that the exclusive minifigure will be Emperor Palpatine in his red and black robes from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. This will likely be welcome news for fans and collectors. If you’re looking forward to adding the figure to your collection, you can start the process on B&N or on Amazon where the book is available to pre-order for $21.99. Presumably, Amazon will add the official cover image to their listing soon.

As for the book itself, it’s billed as “the ultimate guide to the best 200 Minifigures from the Star Wars galaxy”. This will include new minifigures from Disney+ series like The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and The Bad Batch, as well as new variants of classic characters fromthe Skywalker Saga.

In other Star Wars LEGO news, the latest Ultimate Collector Series set is the Jabba’s Sail Barge (75397). It launched earlier this month with 3,942 pieces and features like the ability to fold down the sides and lift off the sails and top deck to check out the detailed interior. Inside you’ll find the the cockpit, prison cell, armory, kitchen and entertainment room equipped with Jabba’s bed and more. It will also include 11 Star Wars minifigures Jabba the Hutt, Princess Leia (Huttslayer / Slave Leia), Bib Fortuna, C-3PO, Max Rebo, Kithaba, Vizam, Wooof, Gamorrean Guard, Salacious Crumb and R2-D2 with a bar table accessory. McFarlane Toys is set to open up pre-orders for a strange Build-A-Wave series of DC Multiverse figures that are inspired by a poorly reviewed video game that launched on the Super Nintendo and Genesis in 1995. The game in question is Justice League Task Force, and the lineup includes figures of Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Batman that include pieces to assemble Darkseid.

If you ask us, this wave is worth picking up for Darkseid and the weird face sculpts and luxurious hair on Superman and Aquaman. It appears that they’ve come fresh from the salon to look their best in battle. Pre-orders for the figures are expected to go live starting at 9am PT / 12pm ET today, October 25th here at Entertainment Earth (free U.S. shipping on orders $39+ for a limited time) priced at $24.99. The way we play games has come a long way. These days we have access to an incredibly large video game library, whether that be on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles or on PCs through Steam. However, many gamers still hold classic consoles from Sega close to their hearts. Remember sitting in front of the small box TV with the SEGA Genesis playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2? Or maybe you were playing SoulCaliber on the Dreamcast. Whatever it was, these initial games solidified they’re place in our memories forever, and so did the consoles we played them on.

Video game culture is continually growing and changing, with new technologies being introduced constantly. While I’m incredibly grateful for these new additions, sometimes it feels nice to take a second and remember where we started. What it felt like to be a kid, controller in hand with the TV screen glowing, thumbs starting to hurt, just trying to make it through the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Metropolis Zone. That might’ve been a different time, but we can still capture the feeling!

Spy x Family’s season 2 ended back in 2023, so fans are itching to get back on the Forger train. Back in June, it was confirmed that the anime would be getting a third season. The official Spy x Family X account confirmed this by posting an illustration that centered everyone’s favorite pink-haired psychic, Anya, alongside the adorable family pet, Bond. The two’s supernatural psychic bond and their emotional human-to-pet bond are both clearly seen in the poster – but in the end, it truly is just a little girl cuddled up with her good boy. Spy-parents Yor and Loid are seen standing just outside the door, looking over their adorable (fake) family. At the bottom in small text reads “season 3.” 

For now, we sadly don’t have a date for when the new season will premiere. The increased popularity of the show proves that a season 3 is necessary, and we’re obviously hoping even more seasons will come after that!

 Any anime fans who have yet to enjoy the sincerity that is Spy x Family should check out the show either on Hulu or Crunchyroll. You can also watch the anime movie, Spy x Family Code: White, which came out in 2023, on either Crunchyroll or Amazon Prime streaming. Both the dubbed and the subbed versions should be available. Dragon Ball is never going away. Decades ago, creator Akira Toriyama brought Son Goku into the world, and the fans have put respect on his name. Whether we’re talking TV or video games, Dragon Ball has never failed to put Goku on the top spot. Now, the team behind Dragon Ball wants to help fans turn into Goku, and Bandai is doing that with… a beanie.

Yes, that is right. Dragon Ball is releasing a beanie that brings Goku’s iconic style to life. As you can see below, Bandai has teamed up with Shueisha and Bird Studios to bring a special line of beanies to life. One of them will give wearers Goku’s iconic hair style, and there are other hats included in the collection.

DRAGON BALL HAS BROUGHT GOKU’S ICONIC HAIR TO LIFE

Outside of Goku, the new Dragon Ball line also focuses on Oolong and Puar. The kitty and piglet are included in this line, so old-school Dragon Ball fans can rejoice. These characters don’t often get the spotlight they deserve, after all. When it comes to Dragon Ball, its best fighters are always in the spotlight, so guys like Puar get left out.

Still, these two characters are lucky compared to others. Yamcha may be more present in Dragon Ball, but he is always the butt of someone else’s joke. The martial artist has come a long way since the Saiyan saga, but Yamcha has not come far enough to get his own beanie.

For those interested in bringing home one of these beanies, they are currently sold out. Bandai launched pre-orders a few weeks back, but secondhand retailers like Meccha Japan are working to get more pre-orders in stock. In the United States, these stores have priced the Bandai beanie at about $70 USD. No release date has been announced for the product either, but Dragon Ball fans are willing to do whatever to nab this collectible.

WHAT DOES DRAGON BALL HAVE IN STORE FOR GOKU (AND HIS HAIR) NEXT?

While we wait for Dragon Ball to restock its Goku beanie, the franchise is staying busy elsewhere. It is hard to miss the series’ most recent release, Dragon Ball Daima. The long-awaited anime went live in October 2024 after a long period of waiting. Upon its release, the anime became a hit with fans, and audiences were admittedly surprised by its quality. At just a few episodes in, Dragon Ball Daima has unpacked plenty of lore for diehard fans, and Goku Mini is already a fave with netizens.

For those wanting to watch Dragon Ball Daima, no sweat! The anime is easy to find as it is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix in the United States. As for the anime’s English dub, Dragon Ball Daima will premiere the dubbed version in theaters this November before it heads to streaming.

Beyond Dragon Ball Daima, the franchise is also pressed with its latest video game. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is now live, and the Bandai Namco release is breaking records. Not only did the game sell three million copies in its first 24 hours, but it made history for Dragon Ball with its max Steam concurrents. With a number of DLC drops on the way, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is the game fans have been dreaming about for ages. Hocus Pocus 2…Maybe 3? 

The long awaited sequel to the cult classic Halloween movie released in 2022 on Disney+, and it was a huge success. The spirit of the original was perfectly placed and the love it received was seen as proof that the film should definitely get a third entry in the franchise. Disney was happy to oblige with the announcement that a third installment was in development, though details have been scarce since then. Bette Midler, who plays the wicked witch Winifred Sanderson, would really like them to hurry up:

“I haven’t seen the script but I’ve heard rumblings, but I haven’t seen anything,” she shared with Busy This Week. “But I think if they’re gonna [make it], they oughta, because time is not just marching, time is like, barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we’re still breathing.”

It would definitely be great to see a third installment of this story, and it’s fantastic to hear the cast talking about it so excitedly. It took years for us to get the sequel, and now this three-quel seems like it will also take a few more years to be confirmed. Though it’s not the best news for those of us who crave more of the Sanderson Sisters, we’ll just have to be patient. While we await the confirmation (that’s hopefully close!), for now we can keep growing our spooky collections and celebrate the Halloween season with the first two Hocus Pocus films!

My Hero Academia Season 8

The 8th and final season of the hit anime is set to premiere sometime in 2025, and a new teaser trailer was recently posted, hyping up the fans for the emotional, action-packed ending that we knew was coming. 

The anime’s seventh season was fantastic, tiptoeing our main hero Deku to his final battle with the villain Shigaraki. With that kind of build up, the anime is promising to be great. Earlier this month the creator Kohei Horikoshi brought the manga to an end, so some of you might know how the story ends. But if you’re holding out for the anime, or maybe interested in experiencing both, then you’ll have to wait until 2025. 

My Hero Academia was definitely one of the most popular anime around, especially in recent years. The anime’s recent theatrical release even made it into the Top 10 animated films of its premiere weekend, marking a step in anime’s increasing popularity in the US. It’ll definitely be difficult to let go of a show like this one, who’s characters and storylines impacted us all so deeply. For now, we can only rewatch the teaser trailer and get pumped for Deku’s ultimate showdown.

X-Men: Alpha (1995) #1 sets the stage for the coming story, introducing the dystopian future that Apocalypse is now in control of, showing us the disastrous effects that Legion’s time-traveling has caused. The heroes in today’s Funko drop band together as part of Magneto’s X-Men to try to save their reality and end Apocalypse’s reign. New characters are introduced as part of the Age of Apocalypse storyline while others find themselves in completely new scenarios in this unusual reality. The new storyline affected multiple X-Men titles, changing them completely to reflect their new reality. 

The Age of Apocalypse storyline is one of the most popular of the X-Men stories, most recognized for its unique character designs and renditions as well as its dark and gritty themes. The stakes were particularly high in this universe, with our X-Men having to battle it out against the incredibly powerful Apocalypse. One of the best aspects was seeing our characters in completely new situations – such as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey’s position as the leaders of the human resistance.

Funko recently released a collection of Pop figures inspired by the Terrifier series of horror films. Indeed, the wait for Art the Clown Funko Pops is finally over, and there are several options to choose from. If you’re lucky, there’s even a chance to score a Chase.

The figure now includes an accurately color matched, translucent energy aura. With this new addition the figure looks even better. This Dragon Ball action figure was available to purchase at the show, but for those of us who weren’t present, they’re accepting pre-orders over at Premium Bandai. Dragon Ball Daima  

If you’re a big fan of the Dragon Ball franchise, then you’re probably aware that a new Dragon Ball anime premiered recently, as part of the blockbuster Fall 2024 anime schedule, The first episode of the anime premiered on Crunchyroll on October 11, and on Netflix on October 18. Already it’s being received better than previous Dragon Ball Z sequels, like Dragon Ball Super. As a fan of the series, it was exciting to watch the extended-length premiere episode and take a look at back at some of the best parts of Dragon Ball Z while also watching the building blocks be set for future plotlines. New characters have been introduced, new realms set up, and now Goku and his friends are ready to start all over again. Not to mention the animation of the series looks fantastic, with smooth movements that definitely match the artistic style of Akira Toriyama’s designs. With a new anime and a new video game impressing fans now is the time to rekindle that love for the Dragon Ball franchise.

For only $30, you can pre-order the Standard Edition paperback guide, which boasts 415 pages of information. Or, if you’re the type of fan who wants it all, then then Collector’s Edition is the one for you! Now only $40 (a 10% discount from its original $44.99), this version comes with a premium hardcover and includes an exclusive additional 32-pages.

Once again Citizen has partnered with Marvel on a commemorative timepiece, but this time the occasion is Marvel’s 85th anniversary, and they have something extra special in store for collectors. In partnership with East Continental Gems (ECG), Citizen has launched a set that includes a watch, pin set, a Reality Stone Micro Gauntlet with a ruby gem, and a 2-carat Peridot Jarvis Series Time Stone collectible gem.

In keeping with the anniversary theme, only 85 of these sets will be produced, and you can pre-order one here at the Citizen website for $1095 while they last. If that’s a bit of a stretch budget-wise, you can get the 43mm watch separately here at Citizen for $495. It features Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Black Panther, and Dr. Strange in gold on a sleek black dial with the tagline “We Are Legendary.” Note that only 1300 watches will be made, and each will come with a commemorative pin. The unique issue number is engraved on the case back.

The MCU reveals its Top 85 moments

Taking a look at the 52 minutes, this 14 second video highlights just how many unforgettable moments have already taken place in the MCU. What makes the compilation extra special is the theme music for each film also plays during the footage. An example is Henry Jackman’s soundtrack to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the iconic Avengers tune that debuted in the 2012 movie.

Some of the biggest moments come around the halfway point in the video, with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes falling to Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and making a comeback in Avengers: Endgame. The latter movie finally delivered the infamous “Avengers Assemble” line from Captain America, something Marvel fans had been waiting over a decade for. Unfortunately, it also saw Iron Man sacrifice his life to stop the Mad Titan.

What’s up next for the MCU?

With only Deadpool & Wolverine as the lone Marvel movie released in 2024, next year is shaping up to be a big rebound year for the MCU. 2025 sees the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which officially welcomes the FF into the MCU after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. There’s also Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, with Marvel going back to releasing three movies in theaters.

Mahershala Ali’s Blade is also tentatively on the docket, though the film has seen a number of delays and changes in directors and direction behind the scenes. On the Disney+ side of things, we have Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman promised a lot with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, and they certainly delivered given that film became the highest-grossing r-rated movie of all-time. Marvel announces Deadpool/Wolverine comic series

Marvel Comics is capitalizing on the popularity of Deadpool & Wolverine by launching an ongoing series starring the Merc With a Mouth and Logan. Marvel’s ongoing Deadpool/Wolverine series comes from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara. Deadpool/Wolverine is a reunion between Percy and Cassara, who were the creative team that launched X-Force during the X-Men’s Krakoa era. X-Force featured Wolverine in a main role, with Deadpool also making appearances during its run. As Cassara’s cover for Deadpool/Wolverine #1 illustrates, fans can expect the same bloody and violent action that moviegoers witnessed in their MCU film.

“Josh and I really hit it off when we were working together on X-Force and became great friends,” Percy told IGN. “When he made the jump to X-Men, it was honestly a little traumatic for us both—but if you get the opportunity to draw a flagship title, you have to go for it. And he drew the living shit out of that series. We never stopped texting or hanging out at cons. We’re always trading stupid jokes (and many hundreds of Arnold Schwarzenegger GIFs). I even helped his wife locate one of the elusive 12-foot Home Depot skeletons recently, so we’ll both be celebrating Halloween like bosses. This is all to say: we were both so damn excited to get the band back together. Deadpool/Wolverine is us cartwheeling onto the stage and shredding our guitars once more while smoke machines churn and pyrotechnics explode all around us.”

Percy also revealed how Deadpool/Wolverine was in development long before Deadpool & Wolverine found its way into theaters, and while fans of the movie will find much to enjoy, the comic is its own separate beast.

“Well, in some ways it simply feels like business as usual,” Percy said. “Since 2017—with the Wolverine: The Long Night podcast—I’ve never stopped writing Logan for Marvel, and this is simply the next chapter in his journey. But of course things have changed for the mutants, and we’re leaning in to this new normal in the series.”

Following on the heels of a strong appearance at New York Comic Con, DC released a first look at some of the merchandise they will be releasing to promote the DC Universe’s first installment, December’s Creature Commandos animated series. Hailing from creator James Gunn, the series centers on a group of monsters who are put to work by Amanda Waller, essentially filling the Suicide Squad-shaped hole in her heart after Task Force X gets shut down. With actors who will play the characters across animation and live action, Creature Commandos doesn’t have the same hype behind it as Gunn’s Superman, but it gives fans a first glimpse at how Gunn intends to run his new cinematic universe.

The just-released first look at Creature Commandos merch not only shows off some of the t-shirts and apparel coming to DC’s own shop — where they’re up for preorder now — but also a number of Funko Pops and even a Weasel statue from McFarlane Toys. You can also find these items here at Entertainment Earth and here on Amazon.

The Funko pops, which you can order at the DC store, at Funko.com, or at some of DC’s partner retailers (we haven’t looked, but we’re guessing it’s Amazon and Hot Topic), include figurines based on Eric Frankenstein; The Bride; Weasel; Nina Mazursky; G.I. Robot; and Doctor Phosphorous.

As far as the clothing line goes, DC is double-dipping on things that the fans are excited about in the coming months — and it’s playing out in a kind of fun way. In addition to the first wave of merch for Creature Commandos, DC is leaning hard into a line of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats featuring their classic “bullet” logo, which is being reintroduced this month on comics and as the DC Studios logo.

Some of the t-shirts and mugs and hats just feature the DC bullet, but there’s also a couple of Creature Commandos shirts that feature the characters swarming around the logo itself. Other designs feature “floating heads” around the design of the logo in a way that feels like a retro team-book title page…and floating heads in three columns, not too dissimilar to how it might have appeared in a pre-2000s corner box on a comic book.

Everything listed is in the preorder phase. The Funko pops are $11.99, the Creature Commandos t-shirts are $25, and the DC logo collection ranges from $25-$45.

Not much else is known of the plot, but luckily this sequel-to-a-sequel book is currently slated for a Fall 2025 release, so we don’t have too long to wait before the story continues.

Hasbro’s list of reveals for New York Comic-Con 2024 this past weekend included plenty of Star Wars Black Series and G.I. Joe Classified Series figures, but they certainly didn’t forget about Transformers. The collection includes Studio Series Galvatron, Double Punch, Skywarp, and Hatchet figures from various films and games. The wave also includes crossover figures inspired by Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Naruto Shippuden.

Spawn, Todd McFarlane’s anti-hero from Hell, got a limited-edition 1:10 statue today, bringing to life McFarlane’s historic Spawn #1 cover artwork. Made of resin, this Spawn stands 10-inches tall and includes a hand-drawn number on its base. The statue is currently priced at $449.50, which is shockingly high, but there’s a good chance that it sells out anyway. King Spawn Movie 

While we wait for the limited-edition statue to arrive, Spawn fans will also be looking forward to the new Spawn movie. Todd McFarlane has paired with Blumhouse Productions to bring us a full-length feature film based on the revitalized 2021 version of the character, King Spawn. 

King Spawn takes on the larger mythos of the war between heaven and hell, as Spawn is caught up in the prophecy of King Spawn and the throne of Hell. Spawn’s creator, Todd McFarlane, has been able to combine the larger mythos of the Spawn series (the throne of Hell, God Throne, and the Dead Zones, Wanda Blake’s death) into a grand epic tale. Al Simmons/Spawn has to decide where he stands in the war between ultimate good and evil, from a position of considerable power as a leader. 

Currently, Todd McFarlane has academy-award nominated writer Scott Silver as the lead on the project, promising fans that he’s taking this seriously and he wants movie-going audiences to pay attention. 

Todd also wants us to know that the actors we want will be there. McFarlane said to ComicBook. “We’re bringing on A-list people. Not just one, but multiple A-list people… What they’re not going to want is to do a cheap, low-budget movie with all of these big-name people on it. That’s not why they’re signing up. They’re not looking for a big extravaganza. But, they’re also not looking for an 8 million dollar horror movie budget.

We don’t know exactly when King Spawn will release, but Jason Blum had previously stated he hoped for 2025. So if that’s true, we won’t be waiting too long. With Spawn’s New York City background and fun heroes and villains making up its cast, this film is sure to be a good time.  Warner Bros. had previously released a Spawn movie in 1997, and it did fairly well, doubling its budget and earning $88 million. Unfortunately, it wasn’t well regarded by critics or audiences. With new information and a new cinema landscape, maybe now’s the time that Spawn will reach its international audience.

One of the Big 3 anime, One Piece, is having a revolution as of late, especially with the Netflix live-action series exceeding expectations. While we await more information about season 2, CASETiFY is ready to gift us with some new One Piece merch. The tech accessories company announced its latest collaboration with the fan-favorite anime would be inspired by the iconic devil fruits of the series. 

According to the press release, CASETiFY uses the fruit designs from the series to create a diverse collection, which includes “3D AirPod accessories as well as a cohesively designed range of products. The standout design seen throughout the collection plays on fruit stickers, bringing something commonly seen and adjusting it fittingly to the deviled fruit theme of the collection.”

While the 3D AirPod cases are definitely the most unique part (they replicate the in-universe Devil Fruits: the Gum-Gum fruit, Flame-Flame fruit, and Op-Op fruit), but there are a few other products that look interesting and fun. My favorite is the Gum-Gum Fruit Headphone Collectible Case, which covers the headphones with a bright and gummy Gum-Gum fruit. I can definitely imagine wearing those on my head everywhere I go.

The latest batch of Crocs based on the Pokemon franchise is now available to order. This morning, four pairs of Classic Clogs were made available, with each one featuring a popular character from the franchise: Charizard, Gengar, Snorlax, and Jigglypuff. All four designs are priced at $69, and can be purchased from the official Crocs website, or through retailers such as Champs and Foot Locker. Each pair of Crocs features a design inspired by the Pokemon’s coloration. They also come with two different Jibbitz of that character, as well as two Jibbitz that have some kind of connection to the Pokemon itself.

The Croc designs should hold a lot of appeal for Pokemon fans. The Charizard Crocs have a pattern meant to evoke the Pokemon’s fiery typing (and personality), while the Jibbitz show Charizard in both standing and flying poses. The Gengar Crocs have a black and purple color, as well as Jibbitz with both a standard pose and one with the Pokemon’s giant tongue hanging out. The Snorlax design has a blue and white swirl effect, with one Jibbitz featuring the Normal-type raising a hand, while the other Jibbitz shows Snorlax’s mouth wide open, ready to feast. Finally, the Jigglypuff designs are pink and white, evoking its Fairy-typing. The Jibbitz designs should appeal to longtime fans of the anime, as one of them shows Jigglypuff holding its iconic microphone marker!

These four Crocs designs are the latest based on the Pokemon franchise, but there are other offerings on the company’s official website. For that same price, fans can also get the existing black and yellow Pikachu design. Pokemon fans that don’t want to buy a whole new pair of Crocs can also deck out their existing footwear. Jibbitz based on several different Pokemon are available for purchase from the official Crocs website, and include popular characters like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Psyduck. Each one can be purchased for $4.99. If you aren’t a big fan of the official Croc designs, or the Pokemon that are being offered, it’s a nice way to show your love for the franchise while also spending a little less.

At this time, we don’t know if we can expect any additional Pokemon designs from Crocs, but it will be interesting to see if the company decides to expand its offerings in the future. These aren’t the first Pokemon Crocs that have been offered, but the company has largely stuck to the original 150 Pokemon. It’s possible we could see designs outside of that generation in the future, including popular Pokemon like Lucario or Greninja. It’s even possible we could see some designs themed after new games, like the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A. However, that’s just speculation for the time being, and that could depend on how the current offerings sell!

Blast to the past! McFarlane / DC Direct just dropped another addition to the DC Super Powers line. This time it’s a 3-pack featuring Green Lantern, Hourman, and Starman! The Super Powers line specializes in bringing that nostalgic charm back to action figures. From the packaging to the fabric capes each hero wears, this collection of 4.5-inch figures definitely feels like it arrived here straight from the ’80s. 

If you’re new to the Marvel collecting game and need a refresher on who Hourman and Starman are, look no further! Hourman’s real identity is that of chemist Rex Tyler, who created a vitamin so strong that it gave him superpowers! One catch though – it only lasts one hour, hence the name. Starman is also an esteemed scientist. He’s an astronomer that developed a particularly strong Gravity Rod that allows him to gather the power of the stars at his fingertips.

In other McFarlane / DC Direct news, Supergirl got her own statue today, modeled after the art by J. Scott Campbell. This limited-edition 1:8 scale statue stands 10-inches tall and is hand-numbered on the base. Priced at $149.99, the statue is estimated for arrival in May, 2025. Finally, McFarlane Toys is super active this week thanks to New York Comic-Con 2024. A ton of new releases are on deck, like the Batman Beyond Gold Label Set and the DC Multiverse Batman v Superman and Collector Edition Figures.
